Dacorum Borough Council
There is a rotten council called Dacorum
To work, to shop, to each long-winded meeting,
The officers sit in the civic centre;
It matters not that we are just or needy; Copyright © 2003 - Ian Johnston
To which we pay outrageous sums of tax.
Although we write, and speak at every forum,
Its grasp of local issues is so lax.
The councillors go hastily by car.
Their glimpse of the locality's so fleeting
They can't see what the local issues are.
To grasp increasing wages is their task.
But when the local people dare to enter
They rarely do a single thing we ask.
They've more important things to do today.
The council serves the feckless, rich and greedy;
The rest of us are only here to pay.
